As a Certified Financial Planner, your financial plan includes (but is not limited to) analysis in the disciplines of financial planning below.
Retirement Planning
How much money do you need to retire? Will you run out of money? When should you take your CPP? What pool of assets should you draw from, how much should you withdraw, and when? As a Certified Financial Planner and Registered Retirement Consultant, my job is to make sure you have a successful retirement plan in place.
Investment Planning
How can you squeeze out more from your investments? How can you reduce risk? It’s our job to provide you with the best risk/return characteristics possible. See more details on our approach by clicking HERE.
Estate Planning
Will you leave money to your beneficiaries? Will you unnecessarily lose too much of that estate in taxes? How can you “disinherit” CRA, and leave more to your loved ones? Estate planning is the art of maximizing what is left to the beneficiaries you love, and wasting less in taxes to CRA (Canada Revenue Agency). It’s about being prepared with a Will, Power of Attorney, and Health Care Directive. We work with your lawyer to ensure all is in good order.
Risk Management
Will your family survive financially if you die? Will you be able to maintain your lifestyle if you or your spouse become disabled or are diagnosed by a critical illness? We all know someone who has had a heart attack, stroke, or cancer and some of use know situations where a caregiver has died, leaving the rest of the family in a disastrous financial situation. It doesn’t need to be that way. You can mitigate those risks with a proper risk management plan.

Are you paying more than your “fair share” in taxes? We work with your accountant to reduce overall taxes over time, and at death.

Cash Flow Management
You may be thinking that this is all about budgeting your expenses, but this is so much more. When pre-retired, it’s about knowing where to invest and how much to invest to maximize your retirement situation and minimize taxes. When retired, It’s also about knowing where to draw assets from, how much, and when. We call the latter your “Retirement Income Audit. Does you retirement plan have that level of detail? Because it should.
